The Hong Kong Clinical Psychologists Association (HKCPA) is registered in 1980 as a lawful organization that functions as a trade union to promote the interest of members. Members consist of qualified Clinical Psychologists working in Hong Kong. Over the years, the Association works to promote the mutual understanding between Clinical Psychologists and their employers, and expresses concerns on conditions of employment to employers in order to protect the interest of members. Besides, the Association also organizes professional activities for members such as visits and seminars.

Since its establishment, the HKCPA has relied on enthusiastic members to serve in the Executive Committee. In 2008-09, there are five Ex-co members coming from different work settings. Who can become members?

Any person who:

Possesses the professional qualification to practice as Clinical Psychologists in Hong Kong, which shall generally be a satisfactory completion of an approved course of post-graduate training in the field of Clinical Psychology at a recognized institution, and

Is engaged in the practice of Clinical Psychology under one or a combination of the following professional activities:

• Employed as a Clinical Psychologist in the public sector or a non-government organization in Hong Kong;
• In private practice as a Clinical Psychologist;
• In teaching activities in a discipline involving direct application of the knowledge in Clinical Psychology, and/or
• In research activities in direct relations with Clinical Psychology

Duties:

Member

• Pay the entrance fee and annual subscription. The amount would be decided by the Executive Committee and endorsed by the General Meeting
• Pay for other contributions, fees and levies as may be decided by the Executive Committee

• Is not required to pay annual subscription
• Shall continue to pay other subscriptions or levies as may be decided by the Executive Committee

• Attend the General Meeting and have the right to vote at it
• Receive the newsletter of the Association regularly
• Get discount in enrolling in courses or activities arranged by the Association

• Same as member except that he or she does not have the right to vote in General Meeting

Membership fee:

Entrance fee: $100

Annual subscription:	100 (Joining from Jan to June)
	50 (Joining from July to Dec)
